Marlins to hold tryout camp

MIAMI -- The Florida Marlins will be holding an annual Open Tryout Camp on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at their Spring Training facility in Jupiter, FL. The one day camp is for amateur players 16 - 24 years old (and not currently participating in a College Baseball program) and released players with prior professional experience. High School players must have written permission from their school Principal to attend. Registration begins at 8 A.M. The tryout will begin at 9:00 A.M. sharp. Players arriving after 9 A.M. will not be allowed to participate in the tryout. The Marlins Jupiter Complex is located just south of the city of Jupiter (4751 Main Street, Jupiter, FL 33458).

Players should come dressed in appropriate workout gear as locker room facilities will not be available. Players are to bring their own gear (spikes, gloves, bats, etc.). Catchers are encouraged to bring their own gear if they have it. This will be a one day camp only and should conclude by early afternoon. Any travel expenses incurred will be the responsibility of the individual player. There are no fees to attend this tryout.
