New Era/Caps for Kids "Wear Your Cap to School Day"
The Marlins will be holding a pregame awareness ceremony for the New Era/Caps for Kids "Wear Your Cap to School Day." "Wear Your Cap to School Day" is an in-school awareness and fundraising initiative benefiting children coping with pediatric cancer. The event encourages local schools to join the fight against cancer by allowing students to wear their favorite cap to school on Friday Oct. 5 when they donate $1 to the Caps for Kids organization.

International Kids Fund Visit
Miguel Cabrera and Rick VandenHurk will be visiting with kids at the International Kids Fund (IKF) at 11 a.m. The International Kids Fund is a program at Jackson Memorial Hospital that raises funds to treat children up to age 18 who have no other medical options in their countries. Many of the children are from Latin American countries, and their conditions are typically treatable.

Roberto Clemente Award Presentation
Miguel Cabrera will be recognized as the Florida Marlins recipient of the 2007 Roberto Clemente Award, presented by Chevrolet. As the Club's recipient, he is eligible for the National 2007 Roberto Clemente Award, which is given annually to the Major League Baseball player who combines outstanding skills on the baseball field with devoted work in the community.
The Roberto Clemente Award presented by Chevrolet, recognizes those players who best exemplify the game of baseball through sportsmanship, community involvement and positive contributions to their teams. The award is named for Clemente, a 12-time All-Star and Hall of Famer who was killed on New Year's Eve 1972 while attempting to deliver supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. This award perpetuates Clemente's memory and character by recognizing current-day players who truly understand the value of helping others.
As the official sponsor of the Roberto Clemente Award, Chevrolet will donate $7,500 to Cabrera's charity of choice, the International Kids Fund (IKF). The Florida Marlins are proud supporters of Teach for America. Teach for America is a non-profit organization that trains and places outstanding recent college graduates, of all academic majors, into classrooms in the most economically disadvantaged communities in America. For the third season, the Marlins will present a check to Teach for America for $20,000 to sponsor four teachers in Miami. Teach for America teachers and donors will be in attendance to celebrate the partnership.

Do the Right Thing Ceremony
The Marlins are a proud partner of the City of Miami Police Department's Do the Right Thing program. Prior to the game, ten youngsters will be recognized for their dedication to doing the right thing. Do The Right Thing is a non-profit organization dedicated to recognizing and rewarding young people for their positive behavior, actions and good deeds. Since its inception in 1990, the program has directly impacted over 120,000 youths in Miami-Dade County alone.

Benihana Marlins Cook-Off
BENIHANA and the Florida Marlins Wives have teamed together to present the inaugural BENIHANA Marlins Cook-Off. Join Marlins players, coaches and front office staff as they assist the BENIHANA chefs in preparing your five-course meal. The event will take place at the BENIHANA in Miramar following the Marlins/Astros game on August 5. All proceeds will benefit the SOS Children's Village and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

A Marlins player and coaches will conduct a clinic at 10:30 AM at Dolphin Stadium as part of the Marlins Billy's Bunch program and the Florida Marlins Youth Baseball Clinic Series.

Season Ticket Holder Photo Day
Season Ticket Holders are invited to attend the Annual Season Ticket Holder Photo Day, for the opportunity to take photographs of their favorite Marlins players and coaches. The event will run from 5:00 - 5:30 pm. The players will be seated in director's chairs along the right foul line. This is strictly a photograph session- no autographs.

Marlins Wives Back to School Drive
The wives will hold a Back to School Drive to help prepare South Florida's less fortunate children with the necessary supplies to head back to school. School supplies, such as paper, pencils, folders, notebooks, backpacks, calculators, rulers, crayons, and even clothing such as socks and under garments, will be collected at the entrance gates and donated to the SOS Children's Village. Incentive: Each donor will be given a voucher for two (2) tickets to a 2007 game.

D-Train's Dream Team

Pat Pedraja - Driving for Donors
Pat and his family have spent the summer driving an RV throughout the US in an effort to sign up donors to the National Bone Marrow Registry. He set out in April with the goal of registering 2007 new donors and he is on pace to break 5000! He will have the opportunity to be a guest clubhouse assistant for the game. He will also have the opportunity to present the line-up card during the umpires meeting.

Destination Joy is the Make-A-Wish Foundation's national campaign to inspire and empower individuals and organizations to share their much-needed time, talents and resources to grant the wishes of the 100,000 children who will be diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions over the next four years. In celebration of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and their mission, the Florida Marlins are excited to have Nicole Graziano on hand to sing the National Anthem. Make-A-Wish will also be presenting the Marlins with a token of appreciation during a pregame ceremony.

RBI Night at the Ballpark
NIKE will host participants of the 2007 Florida Marlins RBI Program. The Junior Division and Senior Division All Star teams will be recognized for their participation in the RBI Southeast Regional Tournament during an on-field recognition ceremony. Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) is a youth program offering children ages 13-18, who live in disadvantaged areas, the opportunity to participate in organized baseball and softball. This program is designed to promote interest in baseball, academic achievement and social responsibility. The Florida Marlins and NIKE supply the uniforms, umpires and equipment for these children to play.

Baseball Tomorrow Fund Equipment Drive
Marlins fans are encouraged to bring new and used baseball equipment to the game on July 21. The equipment that is collected will be distributed to kids who cannot afford to purchase their own baseball equipment. All donors will receive their choice of a card autographed by Hanley Ramirez or Dan Uggla.

The Baseball Tomorrow Fund will be on hand presenting a check for $5,000 to the Boys and Girls Club in honor of the equipment drive, which will be held the following day- July 21. The Baseball Tomorrow Fund is a joint initiative between Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association. The mission of the Baseball Tomorrow Fund is to promote and enhance the growth of baseball in the United States, Canada and throughout the world by funding programs, fields and equipment purchases to encourage and maintain youth participation in the game.

Each tackle box will be representative of a Marlins player and include a game used autographed item as well as items unique to their personalities. Additional auction items will include unique Marlins experiences. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the SOS Children's Village.

MLBPA Buses for Baseball
Through Buses for Baseball, kids from the Miami Community Charter School in Florida City will be treated to a day at the ballpark. The program is a cooperative effort among the Players Trust for Children, the Florida Marlins, and the local transit authority -- the Players Trust for Children arranges the day, the Marlins supply the tickets and refreshments, and the transit authority supplies the bus. The highlight of the event is an exclusive opportunity for the kids to meet Marlins players.

Marlins players and coaches will conduct a clinic at 10:30 a.m. at Dolphin Stadium for RBI League participants as part of the Florida Marlins Youth Baseball Clinic Series. League Registration is required for all participants.

MLB Pitch Hit and Run
We will be hosting the team championships of the MLB Pitch, Hit and Run competition from 9:30-10:30 am. The participants will be recognized during a pregame ceremony.

Make-A-Wish Destination Joy Night
Destination Joy is the Make-A-Wish Foundation's national campaign to inspire and empower individuals and organizations to share their much-needed time, talents and resources to grant the wishes of the 100,000 children who will be diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions over the next four years. In celebration of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and their mission, the Florida Marlins are excited to partner with them in hosting Make-A-Wish Destination Joy Night.

Nicole Graziano will be singing the National Anthem, and Nicholas Capano will be trowing out the first pitch. Additionally, a pregame ceremony will be held in honor of the evening, and 50 wish children and family members will be in attendance to help celebrate the night.

Do the Right Thing Ceremony
The Marlins are a proud partner of the City of Miami Police Department's Do the Right Thing program. Prior to the game, 10 youngsters will be recognized for their dedication to doing the right thing. Do The Right Thing is a non-profit organization dedicated to recognizing and rewarding young people for their positive behavior, actions and good deeds. Since its inception in 1990, the program has directly impacted over 120,000 youths in Miami-Dade County alone.

Play It Safe When It Comes to the Sun Skin Cancer Screening
The Play Smart When It Comes To The SunŽ program is a public service partnership to raise awareness of the importance of skin cancer prevention and detection with screenings as the cornerstone. Thanks to the support from MLB, the MLBPA, and Academy members, the program continues to increase skin cancer awareness. Since the program's inception in 1999, nearly 17,000 players, coaches, trainers, office staff and their family members have been screened and dermatologists have identified more than 570 suspicious lesions. The 11th annual Dinner on the Diamond, presented by Sports Radio 560 WQAM, will take place on following the game. The event benefits Camillus House, Daily Bread Food Bank and the FMCF. Teacher of the Year
As part of Educator's Appreciation Night, the Florida Marlins will be recognizing the "teacher's of the year" from Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe counties. The "teacher of the year" from every school throughout the South Florida area was congratulated with tickets to the game, and the finalist from each county will be recognized during a pre-game ceremony. Jackie Robinson Day
To honor the enduring impact of Jackie Robinson and his legacy, Major League Baseball has established "Jackie Robinson Day." Robinson became the first African-American player in Major League Baseball to shatter the color barrier that kept players of color from playing in the Major Leagues for more than a half a century. 2007 marks the 60th anniversary of the date that Jackie broke the color barrier.

The Florida Marlins Community Foundation will present a $10,000 scholarship check to the Jackie Robinson Foundation. The scholarship is funded by the Florida Marlins Community Foundation and Dontrelle Willis. Accepting the check on behalf of the Jackie Robinson Foundation will be a JRF alumnus, Sherry Fields.
