Your tax deductible donation to the Florida Marlins Community Foundation will help purchase game tickets for less fortunate youth in South Florida. Over the past four seasons, the "Fans Care" program has enabled 55,000 children to attend a Marlins game. All donors will be recognized on Marlins Vision and those in the "Double" category or higher will receive additional benefits.
The 2008 Fans Care Weekend will take place on September 12 and September 14. Children who participate in local South Florida youth organizations will experience the thrill of a Major League Baseball game, many for the first time in their lives. Fans Care kids will attend the Friday, Sept 12 or Sunday, Sept 14 Marlins game. All the pre-game activities for the Fans Care Weekend will take place on Sunday, Sept, 14.
All Fans Care Weekend donors are invited to attend the Fans Care Family Sunday celebration at the Gate H StrikeZone on Sunday, September 14 prior to the game. Here, donors and children can interact in a fun-filled environment. All Fans Care children who attend the "StrikeZone" before the game will be guaranteed a Hanley Ramirez youth jersey.
The Top donor from the 2008 Fans Care Weekend will have the opportunity to throw out a First Pitch on September 14 for the Marlins/Nationals game. This can be an individual or a representative of an organization.
