Marlins @ School is an on-line curriculum enhancement program that utilizes the Florida Marlins as the basis for the lessons. By leveraging the popularity of the sport and the Marlins, the program aims to help educators reinforce curriculum standards in a way that's fun and compelling for students.
The program targets children in grades 4 through 6, and the lessons are linked to the curriculum areas of language arts, mathematics, science, health/fitness and geography. All lessons are in line with FCAT standards and requirements.
All participating classes are encouraged to enter the Win-a-Marlin contest by submitting a completed lesson. At the end of the program, all Marlins players, coaches, broadcasters and manager make a visit through the Win-a-Marlin contest during Marlins @ School Week.
