| FUNDRAISING EFFORTS REMAIN STRONG THROUGH 2008 |
 |
| FMCF presents a check to the 2008 Women of Tomorrow scholarship recipient Abigail Brown. FMCF is an annual contributor to the Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program. |
Dear Foundation Partners:
Despite our challenging economy, the Florida Marlins Community Foundation remains strong. Our ownership, players and coaches, sponsors and fans have all contributed in an effort to reach our 2008 goals. All of us at the Foundation have had to put on our creative thinking caps to come up with new ways to raise money for the Cornerstones for Kids programs. We have a great staff and much of our success is because of them. Our fiscal year ends December 31, 2008. We hope that you will consider participating in one of our upcoming events or contributing to our Annual Fund.
We are gearing up for the holidays when we target our funding to the less fortunate in our community. In addition, we will give out our 100th - $1,000 grant for 2008 on December 1. Our direct contributions will bring our 2008 giving total to over a half million dollars.
Again, thanks for your support and we hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,

Nancy J. Olson

The Marlins VIP Scene building a brighter future for the youth of South Florida |
Uncork For A Cause is a collection of businesses, professional athletes, and celebrities working together to give back to the communities where they live and work. It was created as a way to bring the world of fine wines and unique, personalized collectibles to benefit those in need through various national and local charities around the country. On September 14, Luis Gonzalez and FMCF teamed up at the Riverside Hotel in Fort Lauderdale for a great event to launch his own wine label and help support FMCF. Many Marlins players and coaches joined Luis to raise funds for charity and support his very own limited edition 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
Fans Care Weekend welcomed thousands of children to Marlins games where they experienced the thrill of Major League Baseball, many for the first time in their lives. The Home Run and Grand Slam level donors were invited to an on-field ceremony, with the top two donors throwing out a 1st Pitch on Sept. 14.
Raffles and Auctions allow fans to experience once-in-a-lifetime opportunities and win Marlins game-used memorabilia. On September 20, the 10th Annual MDA Jerseys Off Their Backs raffle offered fans the chance to win game-used & signed Marlins jerseys. The raffle raised over $8,000. An additional $10,000 grant from The Wasie Foundation will also help send MDA kids to camp. On Sept 21, Alex Evans threw out a ceremonial first pitch after winning a silent auction.

FUNDRAISERS CLOSE OUT SEASON MARLINS ANNUAL GARAGE SALE AND WINS FOR KIDS PLEDGE PROGRAM |
The Wins For Kids pledge program offered Marlins fans the chance to pledge money based upon the Marlins team wins. Manager Fredi Gonzalez led the way by contributing toward this fundraising program. The participant with the closest guess to the number of Marlins wins won a ceremonial first pitch at a 2009 Marlins game. Congratulations to Steve Steinberg for correctly guessing 84 team wins and thank you to all the participants for helping to raise over $11,500 through this program.
The Annual Garage Sale offered a variety of game-used bats and autographed memorabilia from players around MLB. The crowds came early and lasted throughout the entire length of the Garage Sale. Thank you to all those who donated to FMCF and helped raise over $3,400.
