50/50 Raffle
50/50 Raffle

During Sunday home games, the 50/50 Raffle raises funds for charity and provides fans the opportunity to win cash. 50% of all proceeds raised on each Sunday home game will be awarded to one lucky fan. During the 2009 season, FMCF partnered with local non-profit organizations to raise funds. The FMCF will begin taking reservations for the 2010 season in January. Raffle tickets are available for a suggested donation of $3 per ticket, 2 for $5, 5 for $10, and 15 for $20. Tickets are available at the Community Corner and from volunteers throughout the stadium from the time the gates open until the end of the 3rd inning. The winning ticket will be randomly drawn immediately following the closing of the raffle. The Florida Marlins Community Foundation and Al's Florist & Gifts have partnered together to offer an exciting way to give back to the Foundation. When you place an order valued at $60 or more, Al's Florist & Gifts will contribute $10 of your order to FMCF. There are two ways to participate. For online orders, simply make your gift selection and move on to check out. While checking out, select "Florida Marlins Community Foundation" from the drop-down menu under Charity Contributions. For phone orders, simply mention the Florida Marlins Community Foundation to the Al's Florist & Gifts representative when placing your order.

Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is a year-long campaign by the Florida Marlins Community Foundation to raise unrestricted dollars for the Cornerstones for Kids programs. Those wishing to donate to the Annual Fund may click here to make a donation online. This is a way for FMCF to collect more funds for the grant program and a way for you to make a tax-deductible contribution.

Autographs for Kids
Autographs for Kids

Florida Marlins pitcher Andrew Miller and outfielder Brett Carroll have partnered with the Florida Marlins Community Foundation for "Autographs for Kids."

Through this program, Andrew and Brett autograph fans' baseball cards and photographs through the mail in exchange for a donation to the Florida Marlins Community Foundation. All of the funds collected through this program by Andrew and Brett are used for the Foundation's grant program which supports education, the arts and baseball/softball initiatives.

Fans who wish to participate in the Autographs for Kids program should send their baseball cards or photographs (not larger than 8x10) along with a check (made payable to the Florida Marlins Community Foundation). Donations can also be accepted via credit card by calling (305) 623-6497. Please refer to the chart below for pricing options:

Fans should keep in mind there is always a risk involved in sending items through the mail. Although precautions will be taken, the Florida Marlins L.P., Florida Marlins Community Foundation and Land Shark Stadium are not responsible for lost or damaged items. Please allow four to six weeks for your item(s) to be signed and do not send items other than baseball cards or photographs.

Community Corner
Community Corner

Visit the Community Corner at section 149 during all home games. This area is the headquarters for the Florida Marlins community programs. Check out the nightly auction item, participate in raffles and make donations for media guides. The booth is staffed from the time the gates open until the last out of the third inning.

The FMCF is currently seeking a Community Corner title sponsor for the 2010 season. This is a great opportunity to support the Foundation while also receiving tremendous benefits for your company. Celebration Club
Celebration Club

Celebrate a special occasion by displaying a message on Marlins Vision for the home crowd to see. We will send you a photo of the message to remember the occasion. To place your reservation, click here.

Fans can also arrange to pick up a dozen roses and/or Marlins gift bag. For each game, the first lucky fan to place an order for a delivery and a message will be featured as the Al's Florist and Gifts "Catch of the Day." Billy the Marlin or Marlins Mermaid deliveries and marriage proposals can also be arranged. Ask how your child can join Billy the Marlin to sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the seventh-inning stretch.

Celebration Club reservations for scoreboard messages, deliveries and the Catch of the Day will begin in January 2010.

Community Hotline

The Florida Marlins Community Hotline provides fans with recorded information. By dialing (305) 626-7470, fans receive information about Donations, the Speakers Bureau, Ballpark Buddies, the Florida Marlins Community Foundation, License Tags and Celebration Club. The system allows the caller to repeat information by pressing "9" or return to the main menu by pressing "8". In addition, there is always the option of speaking directly to staff members.

Fans Care Weekend
Fans Care Weekend

Your tax-deductible donation to the Florida Marlins Community Foundation will go towards purchasing tickets so less fortunate youth in South Florida will have the opportunity to attend a Major League Baseball game. Children who participate in local South Florida youth organizations will experience the thrill of a Major League ballpark and experience memories that will last forever.

All the youth were invited to attend a game either on September 11 or 13 vs. the Washington Nationals. The top donor from the 2009 Fans Care Weekend threw out a ceremonial First Pitch on September 13. Also representatives from Citi Bank, Estate of Charles Epstein, Ravenscroft and TSS Photography participated in a pre-game ceremony on the field. From 2004-2009, the Fans Care program has enabled over 60,000 children to attend a Marlins game.

Friday Nights are Fun

Join the Foundation representatives at the Community Corner at Section 149 during Friday night home games for great surprises. The fun starts from the time the gates open until the last out of the third inning. Pick a lucky grab bag, obtain media guides from previous years and participate in special raffles and auctions.


Grants

The Florida Marlins Community Foundation offers grants to local charities four times each year. Grant applications are available by emailing grants@marlins.com. Go to cornerstonesforkids.com to review the charitable giving guidelines.

RBI Youth Baseball League
RBI Youth Baseball League

Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI), presented by KPMG, is a youth program offering children ages 13-18, who live in disadvantaged areas, the opportunity to participate in organized baseball/softball. This program is designed to promote interest in baseball, academic achievement and social responsibility. The Florida Marlins organizes and supplies the RBI league with uniforms, umpires and field usage and equipment for nearly 600 children.

Thirteen RBI teams traveled from the Southeast to participate in the Regional Tournament held from July 24-26 at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, FL. Teams from Miami were joined by teams from Atlanta, Bradenton, Charleston (SC) and Tampa. The Miami Marlins Juniors took home the division title and the All-Star team from Tampa claimed the Senior championship during the SE Regionals. Girls were also represented during the weekend with their own softball tournament at the Lake Catherine Sportsplex in Palm Beach Gardens. Tampa defeated Miami in the softball championship game and competed in the RBI World Series.

The teams competed for the chance to advance to the RBI World Series on August 5-9. World Series games took place once again at Roger Dean Stadium and the Lake Catherine Sportsplex with the Championship game played at the home of the Marlins, Land Shark Stadium.

Three Miami All-Star teams have won the RBI World Series: 2004 Boys Seniors, 1999 Girls Softball and 1997 Boys Juniors. For more information on RBI and the 17th annual Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) World Series presented by KPMG, click here.

Spring Training
Spring Training with the Marlins Community Foundation

The Florida Marlins Community Foundation was busy in March raising money for the Florida State League Scholarship program. FMCF raised funds at Roger Dean Stadium during all Marlins home Spring Training games through auctions, raffles and more. Also, two separate fundraising events including the Spring Training Youth Baseball Clinic and Party With the Foundation on helped FMCF fund the scholarships. The events included the help of Marlins players, Foundation sponsors and a variety of FMCF supporters.

During Saturday home games, the Community Foundation offers raffle tickets for a suggested donation of $1 per ticket or six tickets for $5. Tickets are available at the following locations: Gate G lobby, Gate F & H plazas, 138, 149, 156 and 244. Tickets are offered from the time the gates open until the end of the 1st inning. Winning tickets will be randomly drawn immediately following the closing of the raffle, posted on Marlins Vision during the game and available online at www.cornestonesforkids.com. Winners have one week to claim their prize.

Marlins Manager Fredi Gonzalez made a pledge to the Florida Marlins Community Foundation for every Marlins home and away win in support of the "Wins for Kids" pledge program! The money raised benefited the Boys and Girls Clubs, the official charity of the Florida Marlins and Major League Baseball. Several Marlins fans joined Fredi through Wins 4 Kids during the 2009 season and everyone's generosity is greatly appreciated. All participants enjoyed the opportunity to win a 1st Pitch opportunity for the 2010 Marlins season. Congratulations to Norman and Susan Bergstein who will throw out a 1st pitch next season.
