FOX SPORTS FLORIDA & SUN SPORTS TO AIR SELECT MARLINS ENCORE GAMES FROM 2008 SEASON

MIAMI - Fox Sports Florida and Sun Sports will re-air select Florida Marlins games from this past season, allowing fans to relive eight of the most exciting games as they anxiously await the start of the upcoming 2009 Major League Baseball season. Encore games are scheduled to air on FS Florida each Wednesday afternoon at 12 noon.

From impressive come-from-behind wins, walk-off thrillers, Major League record breaking performances, and historic late-inning feats, the Marlins 2008 season will be one to remember. Led by manager Fredi Gonzalez, the 2008 Marlins slugged their way into National League playoff contention.

CODY ROSS CRANKS WALK-OFF
Fox Sports Airdate: Dec. 24, 2008 at 12 noon
Sun Sports Airdate: Dec. 31, 2008 at 8 p.m.
Game Date: Reds at Marlins on June 7, 2008
The Marlins refused to surrender to the Cincinnati Reds as they came from behind in the ninth to win a thriller. Center fielder Cody Ross slammed a two-run homer off Francisco Cordero that gave the Marlins a walk-off 8-7 victory.

UGGLA SLAMS DOOR ON THE PHILS

Game Date: Phillies at Marlins on June 11, 2008
In what could have been a tough loss, Dan Uggla came through big, launching a walk-off grand slam as the Marlins took their second straight from the Phils. Jorge Cantu went deep twice and lefty Andrew Miller turned in a stellar start.

MARLINS CLOSER NOTCHES SAVE

Game Date: Cubs at Marlins on August 16, 2008
Marlins closer Kevin Gregg notched the save in the middle game, capping off 3 2/3 scoreless innings by the Florida bullpen. In front of 39,124 gathered at Dolphin Stadium, the Marlins bullpen secured a one-run lead against the dangerous Chicago Cubs offense.

NOLASCO ENDS MAJOR LEAGUE RECORD STREAK

Game Date: Marlins at Giants on August 19, 2008
The Marlins had gone 301 games without their starting pitcher hurling a complete game. Ricky Nolasco ended the longest streak in Major League history, allowing just two hits in tossing his first career shutout. For good measure, Nolasco added a two-run double in a three-run Marlins' fifth. The right-handed pitcher retired 21 straight batters and secured the Marlins first complete game since Sept. 16, 2006.

MARLINS OUTSLUG PHILS

Game Date: Phillies at Marlins on September, 19, 2008
A five-run first inning, coupled with a six-run fifth, propelled the red-hot Marlins to their ninth straight win in a slugfest with the Phils. Dan Uggla ripped a two-run shot, Alfredo Amezaga drilled a three-run dinger and Mike Jacobs drove in four runs as the Marlins secure the 14-8 win over the intra-division rival.

SHEA NO MORE
Airdate: Mar. 4, 2009 at 12 noon
Game Date: Marlins at Mets on September 28, 2008
Wes Helms' pinch-hit solo shot in the eighth inning would put Florida ahead for good after the game stayed tied, and Dan Uggla followed that with an insurance homer as the Marlins ended the Mets' season for the second consecutive year. 56,059 fans witnessed the back-to-back home runs that lifted the Marlins to a 4-2 win over the Mets in final game ever to be played at Shea Stadium.
