INSIDE THE MARLINS
This innovative original series gives fans a unique, behind-the-scenes perspective of the lives of Marlins players/personnel as well as unique aspects of the team's operations. Nine half-hour episodes are planned for 2008 and will air throughout the season on FSN Florida and Sun Sports. Each show will turn the spotlight on a different Marlins player or coach, focus on their lives outside of baseball with personal stories and comments shared by family, friends, teammates and coaches, or focus on an aspect of the team's operations, such as game day preparations or community relations events.
Ricky Nolasco
An all-new edition of FSN Florida's Inside the Marlins takes a look at Ricky Nolasco and his young but promising career.
The show will focus on Ricky's early years of playing baseball in California as well as his rise to the Major Leagues. In addition, Ricky's parents, siblings, former coaches and peers give insight into his life and what it was like to watch him develop as a player.
Lastly, this episode will delve into Ricky's off-season hobby, dune buggy riding in the California desert.

Luis Gonzalez
An all-new edition of FSN Florida's Inside the Marlins takes a look at Luis Gonzalez and his accomplishments throughout his career.
The show will focus on Luis' early years of playing baseball in Tampa as well as his rise to stardom in the Major Leagues, from winning the Homerun Derby to collecting a walk-off hit in game seven of the 2001 World Series. In addition, the cameras follow Luis as he learns a little bit more about his passion for wine with former Dolphin Jimmy Cefalo and his peers describe the veteran presence that Luis brings to a Marlins team that is full of young players.
Lastly, Luis talks about his life and career, from what it takes to be successful in the Major Leagues to what his aspirations are in the broadcasting booth.

Mr. Marlin, Jeff Conine
An all-new edition of FSN Florida's
Inside the Marlins takes a look at Mr. Marlin Jeff Conine and his vast contributions to the Florida Marlins and the community.
The show will focus on the career of Jeff Conine and how he came to the Marlins, played a role in the inaugural team, and contributed to two World Series titles. In addition, this episode of
Inside the Marlins will look at his contributions to the South Florida Community through the use of charities and the founding of Conine's Clubhouse facility at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.
Lastly, the show will go in-depth on Jeff's quest to compete in this fall's Ironman Triathalon in Hawaii.
The Philosophy of Pitching
An all-new edition of FSN Florida's
Inside the Marlins takes a look at the philosophy of pitching and examines all the elements needed to build and maintain a quality pitching staff at the Major League level.
Inside the Marlins: The Philosophy of Pitching showcases how Big League pitchers become successful and how these stellar athletes prepare themselves in order to remain at the top of their games. In addition, this episode looks at how minor league pitching staffs are managed and how Tommy John surgery has changed the game of baseball.
In the Community
An all-new edition of FSN Florida's
Inside the Marlins looks at the Florida Marlins Community Foundation and their extraordinary efforts in improving the South Florida Community. Under the leadership of Executive Director Nancy Olson, the Foundation works tirelessly to build a brighter future through education, the arts and baseball.
Olson and her staff work year-round to plan and coordinate the Marlins fund-raising efforts, though events such as the annual
FSN Fantasy Auction,
Dinner on the Diamond and
Fish & Chips Casino Night. The show will showcase those events, plus meet some special people who have directly benefited from the contributions of the FMCF such as Teach for America and Women of Tomorrow. FSN Florida's cameras also followed Marlin players as they helped the needy at the Camillus House and the Daily Bread Food Bank.
Hanley Ramirez
Florida Marlins fans can get to know shortstop Hanley Ramirez as he shares his story on the next edition of FSN Florida's INSIDE THE MARLINS. The show, which premiers on Wednesday, April 30 at 10pm following the Marlins and Dodgers game, showcases the young Hanley Ramirez and gives you an inside look at the Marlins shortstop.
At age 24, Ramirez is arguably one of the most dynamic young players in Major League Baseball. Born in Samana, a seaside town in the Northeast part of the Dominican Republic, Ramirez grew up with a passion and talent for the game. His skills were evident from the start and he was only 16 when he signed with the Boston Red Sox. Inside the Marlins' cameras offer fans a glimpse into Ramirez's upbringing and life off the field. Conversations with his father, Toribio, mother Isabel, wife Elisabeth, (translated by Raul Striker, Jr., FSN Florida's Marlins Spanish-language play-by-play announcer), along with comments from various Major League players, front office personnel, and baseball writers, provide additional insight.

The Art of Hitting
Florida Marlins fans can now experience a behind-the-scenes look into "The Art of Hitting" on the next edition of FSN Florida's INSIDE THE MARLINS. The show, which premiers on Monday, June 2 at 10pm following the Marlins and Braves game, showcases the art of hitting as coaches and players give the fans insight into what it takes to be successful at the plate.
The show takes a tour to the Louisville Slugger factory and gives the fans an in-depth look at what goes into producing Major League Baseball bats. The show visits the Marlins video control room and Marlins hitting coach Jim Presley analyzes some Mike Jacobs at bats from a recent game. Also, Marlins players share their personal approaches in preparing for a Major League plate appearance.

FSN Florida unveils the 2008 season premiere of Inside the Marlins, with an inside look at what it takes to make it to the Big Leagues. INSIDE THE MARLINS: MAKING THE SQUAD takes an up-close-and-personal approach to find out what it's really like to be a player trying to make the 25-man roster of a Major League Baseball team. Hosted by Craig Minervini, this premiere episode goes into the heart of Florida Marlins training camp, giving the fans an inside look at a "split-squad game", a team bus trip from Jupiter to Vero Beach, and a glimpse into the lives of some of your favorite Marlins. At the forefront of the show is a special look at the lives of two Marlins, 38-year old Jason Wood and 22-year old Chris Coughlan, vying for spots on the 25-man roster. Although their career situations differ, they both have the same common goal: to make the 2008 team. In addition, Logan Kensing and Josh Johnson give a tour of their living quarters, while Craig Minervini sits down with Manager Fredi Gonzalez, General Manager Mike Hill and Marlins President of Baseball Operations Larry Beinfest for some additional insights into the organization.

2008 FLORIDA MARLINS CELEBRITY GOLF CLASSIC
FSN Florida, the official television home of the Florida Marlins, captured all the action on the golf course at the 2008 BankUnited Celebrity Classic on Thursday, February 7. The annual charity event granted Marlins fans the opportunity to join Marlins players, coaches, broadcasters and other local celebrities during a beautiful day at Bonaventure Country Club. All proceeds from the golf tournament benefited the Cornerstones for Kids programs... building a brighter future through education, the arts and baseball. 2008 PRESEASON SPECIAL
The Marlins had a busy off-season and FSN Florida host Craig Minervini recaps some of the Fish’s key plans for the coming season and beyond. A major hurdle was cleared when the Marlins received financial approval for plans to build a new retractable roof stadium; a deal which gives the franchise their very own permanent home in South Florida. Minervini will also review the impact of the eight-player trade deal with the Detroit Tigers, which introduces fans to key acquisitions, including pitcher Andrew Miller and outfielder Cameron Maybin.
Viewers will also hear from General Manager Mike Hill and Manager Fredi Gonzalez who share their thoughts on the 2008 season and FSN Florida Marlins color analyst Tommy Hutton breaks down the Marlins rivals in the National League Eastern Division. Reporter, Frank Forte sits down with the Marlins dynamic double play combination of shortstop Hanley Ramirez and second baseman Dan Uggla. Forte also sat down with veteran outfielder Luis Gonzalez, a native of Tampa, who brings 18 years of major league experience to the otherwise young Marlins squad.
